Although it is starting to get old, the PlayStation 4 scene is still very active, and here it proves it with the arrival of a new version of the OpenOrbis Toolchain which goes to 0.5.3. For those who don’t know the OpenOrbis-PS4-Toolchain is a set of tools that allows developers to build ELF files without having to use the official Sony SDK, so only free tools are needed to make a homebrew. The way to launch them remains the same, namely through the kernel exploit.
There have been many contributors to suggest changes, from Bucanero to Al-Azif, from Cpasjuste to Sleirsgoevy, from illusion0001 to xXxTheDarkprogramerxXx, and many other developers, they have come to bring many improvements, fix compilation bugs, add new definitions for trophy and application management, improve support for controller extensions and network functions. In addition, ELF file management has been improved, and LLVM 14+ compatibility has been integrated.
