As you know, the security of the PS5 has been significantly strengthened since the PS4, whether on the software side with a Hypervisor and a much more restrictive architecture, and increased eXecute Only Memory or “XOM” security which limits the execution of unsigned code.

In addition to these two elements, there is the problem of the main a53io processor which separately manages the PS5 packages (PKG) on PS5, and here too it is necessary to break its protections or find a way to bypass it to launch the fPKG, and this without counting the developments which could have been made by Sony over the firmwares, in particular from 3.00, and 7.xx.

So, there are some important steps to take before you can freely run fPKGs on PS5, but it seems that one of them, the a53io chip, has been passed. This is what Zecoxao seems to confirm with a screenshot and
a clear comment on his X profile, it remains to be seen what this will actually allow and on which firmware.
